Don’t think I’m putting teen business in a box, because I know there have been so many different and creative ideas for home businesses by teens emerge in the last few year. However, these 10 businesses for teens are still classic, because most of them are easy to start, and take very little cash up front.
Yankee Candle founder, Michael Kittredge, would argue that making candles is an easy business to start. It’s definitely a little more than melting crayons into a milk box these days, but it can certainly be a lot of fun!
Here’s Yahoo’s slideshow on the top 10 businesses for teens: http://smallbusiness.aol.com/features/teenbusiness
We’ll try to detail how to start each of these in the next few weeks. Any business in particular you want to know about?

Hello,
We have two boys, one a teenager, who wants nothing more than to start his own business!
We would like to see some ideas for teens that can be done mostly by internet or mail-order. Living waaay out in the country, with few neighbors nearby, many of the “tried and true” suggestions of mowing/raking, babysitting, selling baked goods, pet sitting, etc. are just not options out here!
Thanks!
Good point, Kevin, I will start posting more ideas for those of us who live out in the country. When we first moved to TN, we sold books on Amazon, and grew herbs. One of my boys really liked cars and found selling auto parts on Ebay to be very lucrative!
Your post was hands down a quality read & I enjoy quality articles on the internet because alot of it’s the same thing. I know that when it comes to content it is for the most part King for the matter of getting a webpage ranked and what not (undoubtely the reason I discovered this). I’ve made a few websites back when and am focusing on an online micro jobs marketplace kinda site for members to visit and buy and sell services to eachother. That being said I need to spend some time on getting some blog posts and other stuff on the web site and so forth. Anyway take it easy and keep handing out good material.
Thanks! You are right, taking the time to creating QUALITY blog posts that offer true value is one of the most important investments any online marketer can make!
Keep working at it.

Selling Candles Business…
[...]10 Teen Business Ideas » Homeschool Entrepreneur[...]…
Selling candles was one of our first home businesses we did with our children. We purchased a working business from someone and found that it would have been better to create our own. But it’s all a learning journey and when you do it with your children, they see how you apply the experience to future business moves. Learning from our mistakes is one of our most important lessons.
