Technology Tutorials On The Web
An amazing free resource that all home schoolers should check out! A tutorial is offered for every major computer program you could think of. Find lower cost versions of many of these programs by looking for older versions. They can usually be found on Ebay or Amazon. Just be sure your older edition is compatible with your computer-BEFORE you buy.

Can’t afford Microsoft Office? Try Open Office – It’s Free!
Mozilla (creators of the Firefox browser) offers their versions a version of MS Office completely free. It’s called Open Office and offers the same programs so you can do anything that the ‘name brand’ versions can do. I’ve found that most Excel and Power Point files that are sent to me can be opened by Open Office’s version. It’s a great alternative at a bargain price! The knowledge of each of these programs are foundational in most job requirements.

Investopedia – The No-Risk Way to Play The Stock Market
How would you like to have $100,000 to play the stock market?
That’s what you start with when you sign up for a free simulator account at Investopedia’s Stock Simulator They let you see what you can do using real-time stats from Wall Street with no risk of losing a penny!
It’s a tremendous teaching tool, with graphs and information on the stocks you buy and more. Used by beginners and experts in the field, there is a library of information you can access to learn the ropes at the level you are at. It’s completely free to use, with no catches, aside from emails they may send you rather frequently (which you could opt out of). Naturally, offering a free service usually comes with a way to sell you something, there are many ads, but no obligation or pressure to buy anything at all.
Along with the stock simulator, they offer tutorials, an investor’s dictionary, exam prep, and various calculators. You can also sign up for their free newsletter, free reports and an incredible assortment of tools for the investor (or investor wanna-be). This program was instrumental in my son’s ‘Cum Laude BS in Finance’! He loved it so much when he was in early high school that it inspired him to pursue the field. And it’s all free. Learn The Basics of Accounting
Although this Managerial Accounting website is obviously using some meaty information to bank Adsense dollars, homeschoolers can benefit from concise information like this.
You will learn the basics of the different accounting systems without wading through swamps of financial jargon. Understanding what you need and when is a valuable skill when managing any business. If you are not good with numbers, your best move is to hire a professional bookkeeper, but any good entrepreneur needs to know the basics of accounting.
