You know I don’t promote anything that I don’t use or really believe in. I’ve been with 1 & 1 for several years now, and I confess - it was a rocky relationship at first, and I even came close to changing companies because of their support. Now it’s consistently the best tech support I’ve found (I ‘test’ it often
). It’s my personal opinion that One and One web hosting is one of the best deals around even without the specials they run, and if I may, I’d like to tell you why and share one of the best deals currently available on web hosting with you.
In the last 12-18 months they have dramatically improved their customer service/tech support to an outstanding level. Recently I had a major problem with one of my blogs that was entirely my fault, and one of their techs spent hours with me resolving it. Don’t think that they have to do that, because outside blog support (ie:Wordpress) isn’t part of their support responsibility. There is no telling how much money it would have cost if I had needed to hire someone to solve this problem. That is just one example of how outstanding customer service that went above what was necessary has cemented my loyalty to them.
As I’m sure you know, there are so many hosting companies out there clamouring for your business it makes your head spin. Many of them have all the features and more that anyone would ever need, but unless you are a computer whiz, it’s that person on the other end of the phone you call for help when you have a problem that makes the difference. I’m not one to call CS or companies for any reason, but I do call tech support regularly. If you are growing in your knowledge of having your own online presence, it’s inevitable.
There are a few others that can match the customer service like Blue Host and Gator Host, but One & One has the one year of free hosting right now, which also includes 2 domains for as long as you are with them.
Other features you will like about One & One:
Pay only 3 months at a time. 95% of web hosting packages insist on paying for the full year up front. As a business owner, that’s a smart way to do business . . . To the beginner online that hasn’t made a dime yet, it’s tough.
Easy to use interface, especially for beginners. They make installing WordPress a snap. It’s not a “C-panel”, which is usually confusing for those new to web hosting.
The business package includes 3 free domains – for as long as you are with 1 & 1. It’s only $9.99/month, and the first 3 months are free. This is what I have, the one on sale is the “Home” package, which includes 2 domains, and is $4.99/month after the free year is over.
Their web builder is like no other, super simple to use, and the nicest templates I’ve seen for a professional look. No generic outdated templates like the others. If you are new to building websites, you will love this feature.
Best domain pricing I’ve found. First year of registration on a .us domain for only $2.99, .org and .info domains for only $4.99 and .com, .net, .biz domains for only $6.99. Second year is regular price ($8.99), and I’ve gotten 7 domains free during various promotions over the years, too. One of my favorite features, and why I have over 30 domains with them is they also have a really easy way of keeping track of them all and making changes takes less than a minute.
Host unlimited domains on one account. Many people don’t look at this when they sign up for their first web hosting account. I pay the same amount if I have one website going, or 30. Keeping it all in one place makes it easy to keep track of AND if I have an idea for a website, it’s free to try it out.
90 day money back guarantee, 24/7 toll-free support, and all the features you’ll need for quite some time, all adds up to a perfect choice for your first web host. Or if you’re not happy where you’re at, they will help you move!
So, if you’ve been sitting on the fence, now is the time to give it a try-while it’s free. There is a $4.95 set-up fee. The offer expires Aug 31st. If you are into affiliate marketing at all, you know that One & One pays pennies compared to the generous commissions on other quality hosting companies. This alone should tell you what a deal One & One is, it would be 6x’s more lucrative if I recommended a dozen different decent web hosts to you. I do get a small commission when you sign up, so if you use this link, I’ll be very grateful and willing to help you get that self-hosted WordPress blog set up. Don’t use the installed WP they offer included on their interface. It’s almost as easy to set up your own and you’ll have SO many more options available to you. You’ll be glad you did.

Customer Service. The first step to increase your customer base is to keep every single one you ever come across. It works not only to maintain those you have worked so hard to gain as a customer, but if they are impressed by your level of customer service, then they will tell others. Guaranteed. Bad customer service works the same way, only in reverse. How many times have you had a grumpy clerk only to classify the entire business as having terribly service vowing never to return?
Writing for the web is very different than writing for any other purpose, probably because the web is far different from any other media. In high school, it’s rare to find any training on this subject even though it’s predicted that books will be obsolete and all reading will be done online with in 10 years.
we really need to do is to stop teaching writing at about the third grade! Personally, I believe that any writing is best taught by reading, writing, and more reading. One way to incorporate this skill into your homeschool would be to re-write a well written paper to a concise piece suitable for the web.
